Cantorial Soloist Erica Rubin Lipp is currently serving as Cantor, Educator and B'nai Mitzvah Director at Temple Beth Am in Pearl River, New York. Previously, she has served as Cantor and Educator at Temple Beth Tikvah in Wayne, New Jersey, Congregation Sons of Israel in Nyack, New York, in Rockland County. She has also served as Spiritual Leader/Cantor and Hebrew school director at the Jewish Center of the Moriches in Suffolk County on Long Island, New York.

 

She is a graduate of Barnard College, Columbia University, magna cum laude, Saint John’s University with a Masters of Education and is currently a Candidate for Cantorial Ordination & an MA in Jewish Studies at the Academy for Jewish Religion. 

While serving on the pulpit, she also loves to work with the greater Jewish community, and specializes in weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, baby namings and all life cycle events.  Cantorial Soloist Erica Rubin Lipp is also a professional opera singer, jazz musician, and singer of traditional and contemporary Jewish music.

She serves as faculty at Eisner Camp, in Great Barrington, MA. She is also a member, and VP board member of the New Jersey Cantors Choir.

 

She has performed her coloratura soprano roles all over Europe,  such as the Queen of the Night from the Magic Flute and Madame Mao from Nixon in China. She is currently  recording in the studio,  and will release a new album in the upcoming year.  More concerts and other engagements are forthcoming within the year as well. As the cousin of the great Cantor Pierre Pinchik, Erica is thrilled to continue her family's tradition of serving the Jewish community as a spiritual leader and chazzan. She has served at various congregations including Beth Am Temple in Pearl River, NY, Temple Beth Tikvah in Wayne, NJ, Congregation Sons of Israel in Nyack, NY, B'nai Israel in Wilmington, North Carolina, Shomrei Torah in Wayne, New Jersey,  congregation B’nai Israel in Fleishmans, NY and Temple Beth El in Oneanta, NY. She has also served as a Jewish Educator at WTA in New Rochelle, NY, Greenburgh Hebrew Center in Dobbs Ferry, NY, Riverdale Temple, in Riverdale, NY, as well as serving as faculty at Camp Eisner, in Great Barrington, MA.
